street priceThe new music workstation KARMA is based on the new Karma technology which Korg describes as performance modeling. This instrument combines all the best features introduced in the workstations of TRITON series: rich timbres, a variety of effects and great sequencer capabilities. The combination of all these achievements made it possible to create a musical instrument with a powerful synthesizer part, and with an intuitive interface that raises the bar making this workstation achieve new heights in the music industry.
KARMA music workstation offers a 62-voice polyphony. It applies the HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis system as well as TRITON series instruments do. The instrument has 32 MB of PCM samples. The arsenal of ROM sounds comprises 384 factory and 640 user programs. There are 256 programs and 9 drum kits available and compatible with GM level 2. There are 786 presets for user combinations.
A vast section of effects provides musicians with 102 different effects algorithms. There are 5 insert-effects, 2 master effects and a 3-band equalizer which can be used simultaneously. The developers of the instrument provided us with flexible routing thanks to which the signal can be put through any combination of effects and to any of the 4 outputs.
KARMA workstation sequencer has 16 tracks with a capacity of up to 200,000 notes. In total, you can record up to 200 songs with the length of up to 999 measures per song. The created songs can be saved as SMF (a standard MIDI file). Compatibility of files with Korg TRITON series instruments is supported.
If the basic capabilities are no longer sufficient, KARMA workstation can be expanded with two optional EXB-PCM series boards. Each board contains 16 MB of PCM data with the programs and combinations. The EXB-MOSS DSP Synthesizer board containing the MOSS DSP synthesis block (multi-generator synthesis system) is supported.
