A hybrid digital/analog architecture of the Prophet 12 features a groundbreaking sound pushing DSI to those on top of the synth market. Each of the twelve voices of polyphony has 4 dedicated digital oscillators, a sub, 4 LFOs with a sync function, 16 slots of mod matrix including 26 modulation sources and 97 destinations, a digital character section, Curtis low-pass filter with resonance, a high-pass filter, a feedback circuit which can be tuned, delay line, 4 five-stage envelope generators with a loop function, and an arpeggiator.
The 5-octave keyboard features semi-weighted keys with velocity and channel aftertouch. The digital oscillators can modulate each other applying FM and AM in any imaginable configuration. The front panel offers editing for every parameter which can be re-programmed in any way. Pitch and mod wheels, touch sliders and a considerable number of controls make it a perfect choice for live performance.
The instrument is bi-timbral, and considering that it features comprehensive modulation capabilities, as well as syncable LFOs, 4-tap stereo delay and arpeggiator, Prophet 12 is a pure sound joy. MIDI DIN, in/out/thru and MIDI via USB are implemented. There are also 3 pedal inputs (sustain, 2 for expression).
The digitally controlled oscillators of Prophet 12 bring some unexplored versatility of Dave’s iconic voices, while keep that familiar feel of DSI innovative-driven soul.
