MiniBrute is an excellent example of a compact device released in 2012 by Arturia, the company which once started its journey with virtual software synthesizers. A mono synthesizer with a single VCO, no menu and no presets exceeded expectations and became popular with its specific aggressive sound and brand control of "Brute Factor", which is available for a quite a friendly price.
The Steiner-Parker multi-mode filter is able to unleash the power of a mono instrument, with which the control of Ultrasaw for the saw and the Metalizer for the triangular wave perform properly as well. The mixer allows you to combine waveforms, adjusting the volume of each. The multimode arpeggiator has the minimum necessary set of parameters; the 25-note semi-weighted velocity sensitive keyboard features aftertouch.
The concept of MiniBrute is in the performing "here and now", at least that’s how the creators explain the absence of factory sound programs. According to them, creating is something more interesting than just choosing from the menu.
