Livid Instruments company launched the project at Kickstarter claiming the instrument to be the world's first wireless, pocket tool. As explained by Livid, Minim was made as a response to the growing popularity of mobile music making, and following their desire to make their products available to everyone. They say that the device has the feel and expression of a real instrument to attract those who did not have experience with MIDI controllers.
In the form of a mobile phone, Minim has 8 pads, a sensor fader, and RGB LEDs with reverse color. In addition, it has 3D motion sensors, with which it is possible to turn the device into a 3D effect controller, and there is the possibility of connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth. The device can be used both as an instrument and a sampler, as well as in the role of a sequencer.
