street priceMOTIF 6 is a model of the Yamaha Motif series which is now famous as Motif Classic series due to the appearance of many other Motif series.
Motif Classic instruments are represented with AWM2 PCM tone generator, 110 000 note MIDI sequencer, sample engine (4MB built-in, expandable up to 64MB of user RAM), compatibility with common sample formats such as Akai, WAV, and AIFF, 84MB of read-only memory (ROM), 62-voice polyphony.
There are 3 internal expansion slots on the keyboard versions allowing for connecting Yamaha PLG expansion boards in order to enlarge the sound library. The onboard sampling RAM offers 4MB and with the third party memory sticks could be increased up to 64MB.
An mLAN network card can be connected via firewire 400 port on the external connectors. The instruments of the series were connected to a computer via MIDI cables through a USB port. USB port also let you use the external storage for your sounds. SmartMedia card could be purchased for storing sequence, voice, and sample data via available SmartMedia port.
Motif 6 released in 2001 has a 61-note keyboard with FS key action, features 62 voices of polyphony, 84MB ROM waveforms and the total number of 1309 waves. Memory offers 384 presets + 48 kits, 128 user ones, 128 performances, and 128 master ones.
