Roland RD is a series of professional stage instruments launched in the 80's. RD-500 is one of the successful digital instruments with recorded samples of pianos, organs, harpsichords, strings, as well as synthesizers, bass and percussion instruments. The total number of timbres of musical instruments included in RD-500 is 121. At the same time, the digital piano allows its users to change and save the recorded sounds, which is of great importance when creating musical compositions. RD-500 features a 28-voice polyphony.
The instrument boasts a real professional weighted 88-note piano keyboard, capable of conveying all the nuances of the classic instrumental performance. The function of keyboard split using different settings for each zone is also available. The digital piano supports MIDI (inputs/outputs) which allows RD-500 to be used as a controller. The effects section of the instrument included Chorus and Reverb with a 3-band equalizer, thanks to the settings of which the instrument will sound decent regardless of the acoustics conditions.
Despite its capabilities, RD-500, above all, is designed for stage, which means that its light weight allows it to be transported easily. The digital piano RD-500 used to be a successful instrument made by Roland brand, but soon the next model (RD-600) with improved specification was brought to replace it. Thus, the further release of the instrument released in 1994 came to an end.
The digital piano RD-700 was the first instrument of the series sporting the possibility of expansion cards use, thereby it quickly gained success on the music market. The model included high-quality piano samples, as well as instrument sounds, taken...
