Juno-Di is a 128-voice polyphonic 16-part multitimbral synthesizer released by Roland in 2009 as an upgraded version of Juno-D. The polyphony as well as ROM is twice bigger than in Juno-D. ROM offers 64MB of waveforms. The unit keeps Juno’s tradition of being budget and of a good quality.

Powerful tone generator, Time Variant Filter, two LFOs per tone, 79 Multi-effects are onboard. The instrument doesn’t feature sequencer, though the built-in arpeggiator offers 128 patterns, 17 chord memory patterns and 24 rhythm patterns. The collection of more than 1000 sounds is extensive enough to get started. The patches comprise electric pianos, guitars, strings, brass, percussion, exotic instruments, synth voices, GM2 sounds and others. There are category buttons to trigger the needed programs. Sound Modify knobs control such parameters as Envelope Attack, Release, Filter Cutoff, Resonance and Reverb. Editing via Mac/PC is available.

Though sequencing and audio recording aren’t possible the arpeggios, phrase sampling and chord memory are useful features. The 61-note velocity sensitive keyboard is good for live performances while the structure of the instrument which integrates D-Beam controller, a built-in vocoder, a mic input and a sufficient number of great sounding presets proves Juno-Di as a proper stage synthesizer. Connectivity is represented with MIDI in/out, USB, external mini-jack input, and already mentioned microphone input.
