The release of Ketron XD9 Turkish took place in 2005. As the name implies, this version has additional auto accompaniment in the Turkish style. The synthesizer has no other differences when compared to its colleagues. It has a 61-note keyboard, modulation wheels and 2 large built-in speakers. XD9 instrument has a 64-note polyphony.
The front part of the device is divided into several sections: at the top there is a display with all the most important information about the selection of banks/effects and editing, the left one is for adjustment of volume/transpose, effects, and the right one is for the choice of voices (piano, organ, guitar, and even synths/pads).
The first section is a digital panel for selecting patches, and the second section with buttons is intended for configuring presets and menu navigation. In a multi-timbral mode, XD9 works with GM-banks (292 patches) which sound quite realistic.
In addition to GM-banks, you can find 290 preset patches, 110 user and 24 drum kits. The first 3 GM-banks offer different voices. A separate 4th bank is derived from GM. Several buttons on the control panel are used to program its presets.
"Panel" voices can contain up to 3 layers, where each layer represents one sound from the GM bank. In some samples the performance is composed in a similar manner. In addition, two effect processors can be used to make the sound complete: reverb, chorus, distortion and delay.
