Electro 2 series included new and updated versions of the software, while remaining identical to the original Electro. As in the original Electro, there were released 2 keyboard versions - 61- and 73-key ones, as well as the rackmount version. The synthesizers of the series comprise emulation of Hammond B3, as well as samples of Rhodes Stage 73, Wurlitzer electric piano, Hohner Clavinet and the acoustic grand piano. The instruments of the series allowed the use of samples from the libraries of Mellotron and Chamberlin. The main focus of Electro models is on the stage use during live performance due to convenient control and compact dimensions.
Nord Electro 2 has an extended section of effects: Panning, Tremolo, Auto-wah, Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, Stereo Delay. There is a 3-band equalizer and 6 reverberation algorithms: Room, Stage Soft, Stage, Hall, Hall Soft.
This electric piano model has a semi-weighted keyboard produced by Fatar with the organ type keys. Despite the primary manufacturer of the keyboard (Fatar) - all keys are re-calibrated at the Nord factory to ensure even response within the whole range. Like all brand instruments, the synthesizer has special controls and buttons which are functional and useful during performance.
Electro 2 series was discontinued in 2009. The models were replaced by Electro 3 series offering three versions of synthesizers.
