Drum Machine BOSS DR-202 Dr. Groove was released in 2000. Like the rest of the "DR" series, the rhythm machine has very portable dimensions. It includes 207 types of drums and 49 basses, regrouped into 128 sets to create music in styles: hip-hop, drum-n-bass, techno, trip hop, house, etc.
One of the main features is that DR-202 has drums from the classic drum machines Roland TR-808, TR-909, as well as acid sequences from TB-303. Moreover, here you can find the sounds of vinyl, lo-fi samples, and sound effects.
DR-202 has 400 patterns, divided into categories: old school, slow tempo, medium tempo, new jack, trip-hop, jazz, abstract, east coast and west coast. At the top of the drum machine there is a filter section with knobs for cutoff, resonance, decay, and knobs for reverb/delay and flanger effects. The most dangerous and "evil" knob is the one with the inscription "LOW". It lowers low frequencies, or raises them.
The 13 pads were laid out like the piano keys, and under them there are drums including 2 kicks, 2 snares, 2 hi-hats, rides, crash, 2 percussions, and 3 "hits." Each pad has an individual effect send, but they can also be applied simultaneously to all the drums. The only drawback is that DR-202 does not have a backlight for the display, so it's very difficult to see information about the tracks.
The sequencer consists of 3 tracks (rhythm, bass, external sources), which allows you to create rhythm parts from scratch or in the "live edit" mode. 20 complete "songs" can be saved to the internal memory of DR-202.
