Taurus I is a synthesizer with a pedalboard. This format was taken from classic organs, where the bass line is performed with foot pedals.
For quick switching, four presets are available: bass, tuba, taurus, variable (custom preset).
The synthesizer is a monophonic instrument with two voltage controlled oscillators. The basic waveform is saw. A meander is also available, which is obtained by severely limiting the saw.
The built-in voltage controlled low-pass filter (VCF) (LP) has a slope of 24 dB per octave. Cutoff, emphasis (resonance) and modulatable VCF envelope generator parameters (contour amount, attack and decay) are provided.
The section of the VCA is called Loudness in Tarus. Time control of ADS parameters is available.
The foot pedalboard has 13 non-dynamic keys, which can be transposed within five octaves. For a right off foot control, the "loudness" controls (responsible for VCA depth) and "filter" (VCF cutoff frequency) are provided.
Famous users include Emerson, Lake & Palmer, U2, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Police.
