Combined into one housing, eight SEM modules feature sixteen voltage-controlled oscillators (eight voices per each of the two VCOs), eight controlled filters, eight controlled amplifiers with ADS generators that can be configured individually.

All settings can be saved in one of the sixteen presets of the built-in PSP module.

In general, the synthesizer represents two 4 Voice docked one over another. Thanks to this configuration, 8 Voice has two independent mixers, each of which operates with its own four voices. There is a volume and position control in the stereo panorama per each voice.

The synthesizer was launched sporting a 4-octave non-dynamic keyboard. Later models were equipped with an additional 5-octave keyboard, with each keyboard responsible for four voices. Thus, the latest revisions of 8 Voice were essentially just about two independent 4 Voice units linked by a sequencer, PSP module and shared one housing.
