While many buttons are brightly illuminated when pressed, they feature a convex design that can cause fingers to slip off, and they're somewhat stiff to operate. Non-illuminated buttons are relatively small despite available panel space.
Construction is adequately sturdy, though the full armspan width makes it somewhat unwieldy to transport without handles. The joystick pitch bend/modulation control appears somewhat delicate.
