Yamaha Genos: October 2017

Genos videos keep on being leaked while Yamaha keeps on teasing musicians with the release date. The unofficial successor of Tyros 5 (may be). While getting the info on Yamaha Genos Digital Workstation we’re playing real snitches. So what are these teasers telling us about?

Yes, it reminds of Tyros – control buttons, multi-pad buttons, registration buttons, one touch setting buttons, but still it’s a new unit sporting a number of the features of its own: color touch panel, six control knobs, display above the knobs, nine slider/ faders/ drawbars (?), six assignable buttons.

So what’s more? Yamaha Genos is going to be a 76-note keyboard. What else? The screen seems to be quite outstanding so that we could embrace handling the graphics. A USB key input. How will we select the sounds, is there going to be a touch screen? Will there be the new SWP70 tone generator introduced?
