A mini “organ tribute” by Yamaha features 37 mini synth keys with initial touch velocity and a plausible range of authentic organ sounds. The tone generation is based on the AWM2 and FM-X sound engines. 5 Organ types are available and offer a set of models including a vintage tonewheel and YC transistor combo. With the different organ models you get a number of classic parameters to adjust including drawbars, rotary speaker, percussion, and vibrato effect. There’s also an onboard distortion and reverb included for creating some deep juicy sounds.

The instrument offers a 128-note polyphony, expression pedal input, built-in stereo speaker system, special bass reflex port technology. The keyboard can operate on six AA batteries which ensures up to 5 hours of a standalone mode activity. YC provides you with a USB host port, aux line input for mobile devices and tablets, and dual line outputs for mixers and audio interfaces.

Owing to the AWM sample-based synthesis YC comprises five organs reproduced incorporating 4 transistor models such as Yamaha YC-45D, Vox, Farfisa and a Japanese one, while the tonewheel emulation is represented with a famous Hammond. The keys are a kind of Motif series synth action keyboard which seems solid and quite applicable for organ sounds. The Hammond type is rendered right though there are no authentic flaws of a real tonewheel mechanism, and 9 footage sliders represent 9 drawbars.
