Shadowed by more famous colleagues, TR-606 strikes back. The release of a miniature box with huge potential took place in 1982. Like its colleagues bathing in fame pool, the drum machine generates its sounds with a simple analog circuit. At first glance, you can take it for TB-303, and it wouldn’t be wrong. TR-606 was designed to be used in tandem with TB-303 via MIDI synchronization.

It has 7 classical types of percussion: kicks, snares, closed/open hi-hats, toms and cymbals, created using analog synthesis (mainly due to the merging of the ring and noise), which can’t but please fans. It is important to note that sounds can not be edited. Fortunately, each timbre is brilliant enough. Kick is quite soft, but at the same time juicy, hi-hats feel metallic, and snare is bright and expressive.

TR-606 offers a pattern sequencer of up to 32 patterns, which can be turned into eight different songs. 4 consecutive patterns can be linked in "Pattern Play" mode. The rhythm machine has tremendous possibilities in switching the Write and Play modes without playback interruption. There is also a BPM control knob (40 to 300). The rhythm machine has dropped into the hands of many high-profile names, such as: Astral Projection, Nine Inch Nails, Orbital, Mr. Oizo, Autechre, Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert and others.
