The Roland R-8M is a drum machine and percussion sound module released by Roland Corporation in 1989. It is a rack-mount version of the Roland R-8 Human Rhythm Composer, and features many of the same sounds and functions. The R-8M has 32 individual voices, each with its own volume, pan, and tuning controls. It also features a variety of effects, including reverb, delay, and chorus. The R-8M is capable of playing back MIDI sequences, and can be used as a sound module for other MIDI instruments.
