The original Numark NV was the first DJ controller to come out with built-in screens, and display a huge amount of information from Serato DJ software. Now the manufacturer made an additional update to improve the controller based on feedback from its users and DJ communities. In the new NVII controller, the screen has been improved, waveforms got grids with lines for easy visualization of the rhythm of the tracks, and BPM adjustment. The waveforms with grid lines, Dry/Wet signal, and a library are displayed.
The list of updates includes improved platters, now they are touch-capacitive. Press release Numark noted that the platters have "adaptive learning technology", which is automatically regulated when they are used (just as some cars adjust their acceleration).
Touch-capacitive means that the platters really feel the style of playing the DJ, and thus adapt to the individual user. They "remember" how quickly or slowly, softly or strongly the DJs use them, and provide the exact amount of adjustment based on past usage experience.
NVII has small 16 pads with a multi-colored backlight, designed to switch between CUE points, create looping, or to cut tracks with a slicer. NV II is a 4-channel DJ controller with 2 platters, which allows the user to integrate with "Serato DJ" software.
Serato is well known for its large virtual decks, which provide comprehensive information about BPM, pitch, CUE points and track progress. In Serato DJ you can also find a virtual MIDI panel with scrolling of the library (it is actually 5 times larger than in any other software), and add effects (phaser, flanger, low pass filter, delay, reverb), controlled directly with NV II.
