The basic-featured controller Korg KAOSS DJ was released in 2015. It has a built-in audio interface, and a 2-channel mixer that can function in Standalone mode (there are 4 RCA inputs for CDJ/MP3 players on the rear panel, and the signal from a microphone jack on the front panel can also be put through 1 of 2 Channel of the controller with a switch on the rear panel).
Unlike every other DJ-controller in any price category, the device has a built-in "Korg KAOSS FX". This means that the hardware effects can be used without the involvement of a computer (a tiny LED and a touch panel are responsible for these effects). In KAOSS FX, you can find many "post-fader" effects, such as filters, echo, decimators, and any kind of laser "stuttering."
All that you would expect from a standard Serato DJ controller is here: library browsing, transport control, loops, hot cue, unusual platters, a short touch strip for scrolling the track (it also acts as loop editor and hot cue), master and headphones regulator. Korg KAOSS DJ is not intended for turntablists or experienced users, but it is perfect for performing the basic needs of a DJ (for example, as a 2nd controller or a portable controller with Serato).
