261e module generates sound by interaction of the two generators (principal and modulation).

Principal oscillator generates a sine wave within the range from 27.5 to 7040 Hz. The base wave can be transformed into a more complex one with the help of a built-in waveshaper, it has the symmetry and tone settings. Each setting can be dynamically changed by CV signals.

The modulation generator has its own independent frequency setting, but it can also be synchronized with the frequency of the principle oscillator. The basic wave of the generator is a sine, but just like for the principal oscillator, the wave transformation is possible. The signal of this generator can be directed to modulate parameters of pitch, timbre or amplitude of the principle oscillator. The depth of modulation is regulated by a variable resistor, and can also be subordinated to an external CV signal.

Both generators have an input for FM modulation and can be controlled (produce notes) via MIDI protocol.

Buchla 259e is a system of two oscillators: a complex waveform generator and a modulation generator. The Principal Oscillator can produce signals within nine octaves. Two wavetables are used to construct the signals. Voices can be selected from banks:...
