Tasty Chips Electronics ST4 is a unique device embracing quite natural and balanced couple of a powerful hybrid synthesizer and a 16-bit music tracker machine. All of that is encased into a 19″ rack mountable unit which could be also a desktop one.
The synthesizer is equipped with digital oscillators (sample based waveforms option is included) but analog filter and amplifier sections. This powerful device is created in such a way so you could just take it and play it – there is a sufficient set of special controllers. ST4 offers a multitrack 4-channel sequencer, 16 steps with the possibility to adjust the volume and panning per step, sampler supporting 8 sample banks in WAV format; there’s even a built-in microphone.
The device features a wide connectivity range – MIDI in/out, independent audio outputs per voice (channel), master output in stereo format, audio signal input for sampler, USB output for keyboard, USB output for computer, SD card slot for samples and track recording, headphones output. Besides, ST4 features an instrument chaining possibility.
ST4 has quite a nice display for the instrument of such a level – full color 3.2” LCD.
