Sonicware is going to present its ELZ_1 instrument as a showpiece at the NAMM 18. Portable Gadget Synth is another surprise among those unfamiliar brands at the popular exposition. Though the looks of the instrument might remind you of Teenage Engineering OP-1, released about 9 years ago.
NAMM show 2018 will demonstrate the functionality of ELZ_1, offering FM, DNA Explorer, SiGrinder, Standard Osc and Low-Bit Osc, as well as EQs (Peaking EQ, LO EQ, HI EQ, Graphic EQ), effects (OverDrive, Distortion, Fuzz, Chorus, Flanger, Vibrate, Phaser, Tremolo, Auto Pan, Delay, Tape Echo, Room, Hall, Arena, Spring, Plate), filters (low-frequency, high-frequency and bandpass), and an arpeggiator with 7 modes.
The instrument looks like a compact MIDI keyboard, but the number of sound engines included in its structure is impressive: 4-operator FM SYNTH with feedback and detune function, 8BIT WAVE MEMORY SYNTH allowing for morphing and editing, STANDARD OSC and LOW- BIT OSC generating sine, square, triangle and saw, SiGRINDER represented by granular synthesis, and DNA EXPLORER analyzing and modifying the waveshapes from the captured audio. 6 engines!
Connectivity features a line stereo output, headphone output, Aux In (stereo mini jack), and USB MIDI support.
