Novation Circuit Update

Novation Circuit Update

Having been sharing with us the story about hard work on Circuit (we’ve already told you about that) the British developers of Novation released the new firmware – 1.4 version – for their Circuit instrument. The update comprised some new possibilities including rethought user patches, samples, synth and drum patterns.

Novation CircuitNovation Circuit instrument is a compact groove box and MIDI controller based on two MiniNova’s synth engines, 4-part drum tone generator and 6x16 sequencer. Besides these specs the groove box is considered to be a standalone music instrument which allows creating electronic music without exerting yourself. Battery powered instrument uses a built-in speaker – as you can see it’s quite portable and doesn’t require loads of external equipment.

So what actually was updated in Circuit? First of all many rhythmic drum patterns were added (before there were only 16 steps to operate with). Now you can set the length of drum patterns individually in order to create various rhythmic sequences. The update also included a quick sample switch, effect change on the fly.

Firmware 1.4 for Circuit gives optimized settings for integration with other MIDI devices as well as MIDI Clock settings making control more versatile.

Circuit v1.4 is a free update and is available for each client.

Circuit itself costs $329.
