British Manufacturer Novation Lets Out Peak - 8-Voice Hybrid Synth

Who would have thought? The famous British instrument maker has fallen prey to mass madness – analog appears to be fiercely contagious. The company has announced Novation Peak – an 8-voice hybrid modular synthesizer based on new Oxford oscillators (3 per voice). Besides analog oscillators, this synth allows you to produce sound using up to 17 digital wavetables, offers a 16-slot modulation matrix and best possible interface concept “one button per function” – the front panel ensures 16 direct assignments. Each voice of Novation Peak has its own allotted LFO as well as analog multimode filter with adjustable resonance and overdrive featuring both pre- and post-filter distortion (though it can also be global). Moreover, here – as in any analog synthesizer - you’ll find classic delay and chorus effects. There are three ADSR envelopes for each voice.

The new device of the British brand features CV inputs to let you integrate Peak with modular systems, MIDI DIN in/out/thru, USB port to connect it to your PC and MIDI-compatible hardware, two assignable pedal inputs. Master audio output, stereo (2 mono); there’s a stereo headphone output. Both audio outs - 3.5 mm jacks. The screen is standard for this type of instruments – OLED 4-line/20 character display.

Novation Peak is priced at $1300.
