Novation Circuit groove box has updated its firmware up to 1.3 version which actually turned it into a completely new musical instrument. The new soft, which you can easily download and install whatever Circuit model you’ve got, makes the instrument one of the most significant units in its segment on the market today.
Considering such components and specs as 2 oscillators with 14 waveforms, 3 envelope generators, 2 LFOs with 38 waveforms, 20 modulation slots, 50 automation parameters, 64 drum presets as well as 64 presets for the synth block and the deliberate emphasis on the distortion effect we should say that Novation is clearly interested in developing more and more control functions.
Circuit 1.3 offers a Sample Flip function thanks to which you may apply various samples using each of the drum tracks – that creates more space for other sounds and sets you free while composing. Sample Preview gives the opportunity to listen to the samples before making them a part of a pattern so you can simply use the playback running them together with already recorded patterns while performing live. You’ll be able to stack samples into groups in order to place the similar ones separately. There was also one bug concerning the timing of Session switching fixed, i.e. no occasionally missed playbacks anymore.
The groove box will cost you $330 and the Circuit Components v.1.3 firmware will cost you nothing – you can download it for free from components.novationmusic.com.
