Sub 37 discontinued

The production of Sub 37 Tribute Edition has been discontinued by Moog Music. There comes Subsequent 37 instead. Subsequent 37 CV has already been introduced before, anyway Moog claims the little Subsequent 37 to be “a new standard”.

MOOG Subsequent 37

As it becomes clear what Subsequent 37 CV has and Subsequent 37 has not is assignable CV & Gate outputs. The circuit design updates to the Sub 37 are the same ones which were featured by Subsequent 37 CV anyway. The brand regards its new creature not only as a next gen Sub 37 but a next gen Minimoog as well.

Subsequent 37 is a paraphonic analog synth sporting a mixer headroom of the original Sub 37 which has now been doubled. That’s how both mono and duo performance modes provide the access to an elaborate range of classic clean tones. Multidrive circuit was rethought making Sub 37 seem much less naughty than the new Subsequent 37. The rebuilt Ladder filter gives richer lows by adding some vital harmonic saturation and analog compression.

Moog Music notes that “each of the enhancements found in the Subsequent 37 maintains the magic and character of its predecessor while also providing access to new dimensions of sound and improved playability”. And let’s keep in mind that “in addition to the sound engine augmentation, each Subsequent 37 comes with an upgraded keybed for improved playability, a high-powered headphone amplifier strong enough to drive the most demanding headphones, and a software plugin/editor for both Windows and Mac platforms.”

Look for Subsequent 37 via Moog dealers which will require you to pay $1499.
