Analog percussion synth created by Moog Music will be a part of Moog’s Eurorack line. The unit is called DFAM which stands for Drummer From Another Mother. It’s a drum machine based instrument featuring more functionality in percussion patterns. Is a member of the Mother family of semi-modular synths released by Moog.
The DFAM’s voice takes origin in a white noise generator and two analog oscillators generating square and triangle. There’s also an external audio input added for an extra sound source. There’s an onboard analog 8-step sequencer featuring pitch and velocity per step and tempo, run/stop, trigger, advance controls. The frequency control is wide-range and covers 10 octaves.
Mixer provides level controls for two oscillators, noise generator and external audio input. The filter section is represented with Moog’s classic 4-pole transistor ladder filter with low pass and high pass switch. There are envelope generators for VCO featuring voltage controlled decay and bipolar amount control as well as the same for VCF and offering a selectable fast/slow attack time for VCA.
Patchbay comprises 24 3.5 mm jacks. The connectivity includes a shared output for 1/4” TS Line and 1/4” TRS headphones.
