The legendary portable Minimoog Model D will be produced at the Moog Factory in Asheville, NC – a few units a month. The limited number is explained by the very process of the actual production which is quite sophisticated and by the need to produce other Moog instruments which are in demand.

The improvements of the new Minimoog don’t concern its traditional layout of the components and the overall operating of the analog system. Anyway in order to extend the range of sound possibilities the company took care of the keyboard (Fatar) considerably enhancing it – it’s velocity sensitive, features aftertouch – as well as added CV jacks to the front panel interface, LFO generating triangle and square waveforms, overdrive effect which would lead to thicker voices and a standard MIDI implementation.
