The new pedal emulates vintage synthesizers and features 9 most recognizable and peculiar voices of retro synths. The 9-position rotary switch allows you to pick out one of the presets. You can easily guess which instruments appeared to be inspiration when the pedal was developed: "OBX", "PROFIT V", "VIBE SYNTH", "MINI MOOD", "EHX MINI", "SOLO SYNTH", "MOOD BASS", "STRING SYNTH" and "POLY VI".
As much as any other pedal Synth9 operates when integrated with a guitar (or a bass guitar). According to Electro-Harmonix the SYNTH9’s usable tracking range extends up to about the 23rd fret on the high-E string of a standard guitar and down to the open A-string on a bass guitar. The pedal sports simple user interface with such controls as: "Dry" volume, "Synth" volume and knobs that neatly manipulate each preset’s parameters.
Mike Matthews, Electro-Harmonix founder, stated: “The Synth9 may be the greatest member of our 9 Family of pedals yet! From searing lead synths to spacey synth pads and deep, funky synth bass grooves, it’s all accessible.” You’ll get your Synth9 pedal equipped with a standard EHX 9.6DC 200mA power supply, and you can do it late March - the street price is $221.30.
