Where to go this autumn - Dutch Modular Fest

The collaboration of Ginko Synthese, Noodlebar, Modulation., Modulab Eindhoven, Voltage Control Amsterdam and iii presents a new festival for fans of electronic music and modular synthesizers. It will be held in the end of September in The Hague and promises to be a very interesting event, which includes master classes, installations, lectures, as well as line-up from the modular synthesizers brands and musicians. All this and much more for a very modest price.

Dutch Modular FestWith growing interest in modular systems, the number of events increases where you can meet like-minded people, listen to good music, learn something new, and maybe even be one of the first to see and touch a new module or tool. At the moment, in addition to such well-known festivals and exhibitions as NAMM, MusikMesse or Superbooth, there are a lot of local events, and every year they become more and more popular, and they expand and attract a wider audience.

The Dutch Modular Fest starts this year. It will be held on September 28-30 in the De Besturing studio complex, located in the industrial part of The Hague. The organizers of the festival are the collaboration Ginko Synthese, Noodlebar, Modulation., Modulab Eindhoven, Voltage Control Amsterdam and iii.

This event is a continuation of the two Ginko Modular Fest, which took place in 2016 and 2017 and was also organized by Jan Willem Hagenbeck, who is behind Ginko Synthese, which designs and manufactures Eurorack modules.

According to its organizers, the festival should expand the comprehension of the modular synthesizers, and leave exciting memories of a well-spent time. At the festival you can listen to entertaining lectures, look at the performances and installations of artists and musicians, get acquainted with the products of the companies represented. In addition, some master classes are planned. All this should serve to broaden the horizon of the audience in the topics of modular and DIY instruments.

The list of musicians and producers that can be seen at the festival is still in the making, but there are already a few interesting names and titles. Also, we will hear Cultuurschok, Error Empire, Lourdes and Das Ding, and see such manufacturers as Error Instruments, Befaco, Ginko Synthese, This Is not Rocket Science and Orodrono.

As for the ticket price for the event, it can be purchased for less than $30, so if you are interested in the topic of modular synthesis and homemade devices, then it's time to plan a trip!
