Marcus Ryle is an American engineer and entrepreneur whose career connects Oberheim's golden age of analog polysynths to the digital modeling revolution of Line 6 and, recently, the revival of classic Oberheim designs.

Ryle joined Oberheim Electronics in 1980 and co-designed the Four Voice and Eight Voice polyphonic systems that established Oberheim's reputation alongside the Prophet-5. He later co-founded Line 6, pioneering guitar amp and effects modeling that brought digital emulation to mainstream musicians.

In the 2020s Ryle returned to his Oberheim roots as engineering lead on the OB-X8, a faithful reimagining of Tom Oberheim's classic polysynth that combines vintage voice architecture with modern reliability and MIDI integration.
