Laurens Hammond

Laurens Hammond is an American inventor who is credited as the inventor of the Hammond Organ and the Hammond tone-wheel generator, the first successful electric organ, in 1935. He went on to form the Hammond Organ Company, which produced the Hammond organs and related electronic musical instruments, such as the Hammond Synthesizer. He is considered a major innovator of electronic music instruments, and his inventions shaped modern electronic music.
