Joel Davel is an engineer at Buchla & Associates (now Buchla USA) who has been instrumental in continuing Don Buchla's legacy from the 200e series through modern reissues and new designs.

Davel worked on the Buchla 200e series, updating the classic 200-series modular architecture with microprocessor-stored presets, MIDI, and hybrid digital control while preserving Buchla's analog signal paths and unconventional interface philosophy.

He also contributed to the Buchla 700, a digital/analog hybrid keyboard instrument representing Buchla's late-period vision. Davel's engineering balances respect for Don Buchla's original circuits with the practical needs of contemporary modular musicians.
