Hans Nordelius is the founder of Clavia Digital Musical Instruments, the Swedish company behind the Nord brand — one of the most respected names in stage keyboards and virtual analog synthesis.
Nordelius launched the Nord Lead in 1995, one of the first commercially successful virtual analog synthesizers, offering real-time knob control of digitally modeled analog oscillators and filters. The distinctive red finish and immediate interface became a stage standard.
Under Nordelius's direction, Clavia expanded into the Nord Stage (performance keyboard with piano, organ, and synth sections), Nord Electro, Nord Piano, and Nord Modular — each focused on a specific player need without menu-diving. Clavia's philosophy of "no compromises for the gigging musician" shaped the entire product line.
Notable products: Nord Lead, Nord Stage, Nord Modular, Nord Piano.
