Fumio Mieda is a well-known Japanese synth engineer, one the first to work on monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers for KORG. He worked on the historic Prototype No. 1, and later on the PE series of polyphonic synthesizers including the PE-1000 and PE-2000. Later on he was working on the Poly-800 - one of the first affordable polyphonic analog synthesizers with digital controls.
Before being involved as synth engineer, Fumio Mieda created the Uni-Vibe - now iconic footpedal-operated phase shifter for creating chorus and vibrato simulations.
