Eric Persing

Eric Persing (born 1963) was Roland's Chief Sound Designer for two decades before founding Spectrasonics, one of the most respected software instrument companies.

Persing created signature sounds for the Roland D-50, JD-800, JV/XP series, and Fantom — including presets like «Fantasia» that defined LA synthesis in the 1980s. As a session musician and producer he collaborated with Michael Jackson, Hans Zimmer, and Quincy Jones.

In 1994 he founded Spectrasonics, releasing Distorted Reality sample libraries and later flagship virtual instruments Omnisphere, Keyscape, and Trilian, which remain industry standards in film, game, and pop production.

Notable products: Roland D-50, JD-800, Spectrasonics Omnisphere, Keyscape.
