Amos Gaynes is a product development engineer at Moog Music who has been with the company for nearly two decades, hired personally by Bob Moog and deeply involved in defining the modern Moog product line.
Gaynes grew up knowing the Moog family as neighbors and later trained as a robotics designer before joining Moog Music. He co-invented numerous contemporary instruments including the Subsequent 37 and Moog One, and served as a lead engineer on the Moog Grandmother — a semi-modular instrument that brought vintage high-voltage Moog circuits to a new generation of musicians.
For the Grandmother, Gaynes emphasized hands-on experience with full vintage modular systems, rediscovering the clarity, power, and "limitless depth of modulation" that simple, direct analog circuits provide. His lucid technical demonstrations have made him a beloved face of Moog in online media.
Gaynes represents the continuity between Bob Moog's analog philosophy and today's Asheville-based Moog Music under inMusic, ensuring new products honor the circuit traditions that define the Moog sound.
Notable products: Moog Grandmother, Subsequent 37, Moog One, Moog Matriarch.
