The miniKORG 700Sm is a modern revival of Korg's first synthesizer from the 1970s, following the successful but limited 2021 release of the miniKORG 700FS. This new model retains all features while being approximately 86% smaller and weighing just 5.8 kg (12.8 lbs.).
To authentically recreate the original's rich analog sounds, Korg enlisted their veteran technicians and legendary engineer Fumio Mieda, one of the original miniKORG 700S designers. The team focused on perfectly reproducing the distinctive thick bass and powerful lead sounds that made the original famous.
Key Features:
- True analog circuitry (not digital modeling)
- Signature Traveler controller with dual sliders for filter control
- Two oscillators for powerful detuning and thick sounds
- Spring reverb
- Joystick for pitch bend and modulation
- Aftertouch support
- Arpeggiator
- Modern connectivity: USB port, MIDI IN, and CV/GATE IN
- Memory program storage
- Compact form factor ideal for use as a sub keyboard
The Traveler controller, a defining feature, uses two parallel sliders to control low-pass and high-pass filters. Unlike the original, the miniKORG 700Sm removes the physical limitations that prevented slider crossing, allowing for more experimental sound design possibilities.
The synthesizer comes with a custom-fitted soft case for transportation and includes a comprehensive software bundle featuring Izotope's Ozone Elements, Skoove keyboard training software, the KORG Collection's miniKORG 700S, and various software synthesizers from KORG and other developers.
