For a while, Denon DJ brand went into a lull, but under the new management of inMusic group, it came out of the shadows, and continued to position itself as the main player on the DJ market. The company focuses on high-quality equipment for amateur and professional DJing, developed specifically for performance.

MCX8000 was released in 2016, and its main feature is that it doesn’t require a connection to the computer, since it works in a standalone mode. But at the same time, MCX8000 can be integrated with Serato DJ. The controller interacts with the soft, manages the slicer, SP-6 sampler, loops, and even "Serato Flip". MCX8000 is larger than Traktor Kontrol S8, the backlight is brighter than in Numark NS7III, it is smaller than Pioneer DJ DDJ-RZ, and thinner than Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX.

The DJ controller has 3 main features: built-in screens (displaying waveforms, track information and zoom change) for Serato DJ (4 channels, the latest updates, including DVS), standalone mode by connecting a flash card to any of the 2 x USB connectors. The files get pre-analyzed in "Engine" software, or the tracks from the USB drive are downloaded. And finally there are a 4-channel mixer with 2 microphone inputs (XLR), and a wide range of inputs/outputs.

On the surface of the MCX8000 there are 2 platters with a bright blue backlight on both which indicates track playback. Those who are blinded with the "beauty" of this controller can change the brightness in the utilities menu.
The device supports "Engine" software, which allows you to analyze libraries, create playlists, add cue points, and transfer them to a USB drive for use in MCX8000. For example, the libraries are analyzed in terms of pitch and BPM, and playlists can be sorted at your own discretion.

As already mentioned, MCX8000 has a full standalone mixer. It has 4 line inputs, 2 switched to phono, which can be easily turned on and off on the fly. There are also 2 microphone channels with 2-band equalizer controls, hardware echo, and "Talk Over". Denon DJ MCX8000 is definitely an advanced controller that combines versatility and easy intuitive control, as well as a rugged housing.
