227e is a combination of three functional blocks: master mixer, microphone preamplifier, sub-mixer.
The master mixer has four independent inputs with individual gain adjustment. The "spatial dynamics" function determines the position of the source in a stereo or quadraphonic mix. To adjust this parameter, two knobs are provided: "right-left", "forward-backward". You can also route modulation signals to these parameters in order to produce different quad-and stereo effects. Mixed signals are sent to the master EQ, there are two of them. Each provides adjustment of spectral tilt, high and low frequencies, as well as of output level. Six-step indicators are provided for the output level control.
A four-channel sub-mixer can work independently if you activate "in the mix" - the signals will be sent to the outputs of the master mixer, and input A will be sent to output A, B to B, and so on.
The microphone preamplifier has sensitivity adjustment, envelope generator and LED level indication. It is identical to the preamplifier installed in 207e.
Buchla developers always try to meet all possible user requests. 207e module combined the mixer and an unprecedented for modular synthesizers microphone preamplifier. The mixer is the same as in the 206e model. It has six mono channels with volume and...
