The AKAI AX 80 is a vintage analog synthesizer released in 1984 by the Japanese electronics company Akai. It was designed to be a more affordable alternative to the popular Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. It features 8 voices of polyphony, two digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs) per voice, and a wide range of modulation and filter options. The AX 80 also features a built-in arpeggiator, a step sequencer, and an onboard effects processor.
