Vermona DRM-1 MK2 drum synthesizer was released in 2001. 5U device is designed to be placed in a rack. The device doesn’t have a built-in sequencer, and instead, the sounds respond via MIDI input/thru or gate signals. Thus, the module requires to be controlled by other equipment.

Despite these technical features DRM-1 MK2 explains its usefulness with one simple reason - it has insanely high-quality drum voices. This synthesizer has a fully analog core which generates a signal for 8 independent channels.
The waveform library consists of 3 drums, multi, snare, 2 cymbals/hi-hats and a clap. For each channel, there are individual audio outputs, a stereo output for the mixed signal, and a separate output for the headphones.

The control functions depend on the use – that allows you to reveal a wide variety of drum, percussion, and even bass sounds. The drums can change the pitch, reduce/increase the attack and release stage, and offer distortion effect processing. "Drum1" section generates kick sounds which can be made long and dense as in TR-808.

The multi has 3 pitch and filter knobs; cymbals hi-hats combine attack and release controls, filter resonance control, and a pitch knob for synthesizing very "high" hats. And finally, the snare with the clap offer reverberation, noise, release and filter control. The instrument comes in silver and blue.
