’14 Analogsynthesizer is the analog synthesizer which is going to be released only in a limited series (222 units). It was announced in 2015 at NAMM, then the manufacturer promised to start the production in October, then in November 2016, November passed, we are ready to write about the unit, and customers are probably ready to buy it, but Vermona doesn’t hurry to release it. Apparently, the brand was impressed by Axel Hartmann who didn’t want to ship his marvelous Hartmann 20 as well.

Let’s have a look at the specs first. `14 Analogsynthesizer uses classical subtractive synthesis and is based on the PERfourMER mk2 and Mono Lancet '15 circuitry, but doesn’t copy it completely, according to what creators say. The synthesizer has a warm sound generated by 2 VCOs producing sine, sawtooth and rectangular waves, which then pass through an analog low pass multifilter (LPF; 12dB, 18dB, 24dB) with resonance. There is also one LFO, 2 ADSR envelope generators, a white noise generator, a separate vibrato generator and, of course, an analog amplifier (VCA). The signal levels of all oscillators are regulated individually.

Vermona positions its long-awaited `14 Analogsynthesizer as a specialized instrument for generating lead and bass – here we come again to the beginning... The convenient interface with a lot of adjustment controls laid out on the front panel and an advanced arpeggiator with the ability of saving patterns (up to 60 notes) and a very wide range of modulation capabilities will help you to get the best out of it.

As for the keyboard – it has quality velocity sensitive 44 keys (3.5 octaves) produced by Fatar, with aftertouch. The instrument has an impressive set of connectors for integration with other devices - MIDI input/output/thru, USB to computer, CV/Gate outputs, balanced and unbalanced line outputs, headphone output. Vermona expects the device to be used together with Mono Lancet and Mono Lancet '15, the parameters of which can be controlled via MIDI. To some extent, it’s the alternative to the Dave Smith's Polychain function.

Of course, Analogsynthesizer will cost quite a lot... On the other hand, lucky people will receive a quality instrument with classic construction, developed and assembled in Germany under the name of a legendary (for many) brand, encased in a metal housing with wooden sides. An important detail - in addition to the serial number "100 of 222", the name of the owner will be inscribed on the plate. Still able to pull the right string!
