Matrix 12 is a programmable analog polyphonic synthesizer with the functionality of the modular system. It represents two Xpander modules combined into one housing with a five-octave dynamic keyboard.

The control panel is identical to Xpander one, with a difference in one button, which "switches" the modules (voices 1-6 or 7-12).
Each voice comprises two VCOs (triangle, saw, meander), multimode VCF (low, high, band and notch), four VCAs (one after each VCO and two put in series after VCF).

The voltage controlled filter (VCF) has a switch for the number of filter stages: one, two, three and four. This allows you to change the slope of VCF from 6 to 24 dB per octave.

Matrix-12 also comprises ten LFOs, six envelope generators, ramp generator, a delay generator and one additional LFO for operation with the modulation wheel.

Unlike Xpander, the synthesizer does not include individual outputs for each voice and there are no connectors for CV signals offered.

Among the users of Matrix-12 are Boris Blank, Michael Boddicker, Harold Budd, Dreadzone, Electronic Dream Planet, ELP, Gravity Kills, Paul Fishman, Green Gartside, Brain Gascoigne, Andy Gray, Herbie Hancock, Alan Holdsworth, Micheal Hoenig, Stratovarius , Steve Lipson, Jason Miles, The Orb, The Other Two, Steve Porcaro, Propaganda, Scritti Politti, Sky, Ian Underwood, Vangelis, Van Halen.

  Desktop Synthesizer Module   2 500.00 U.S.Dollars

In 1984 Oberheim tried to assemble a modular system in a relatively small housing with the ability to quickly and easily integrate with other devices. The result was Xpander which combines the flexibility of a modular system with the ease of controlling...
