street priceSP2 model by Kurzweil was released as an improved version of the pioneer of the digital piano line (SP76), sporting a large number of features and again providing users with the legendary sound of Kurzweil instruments. The use of a new generation of technologies, i.e. the introduction of a sound core on a MARA chip, made it possible to significantly expand the polyphony of the instrument to 64 voices, bringing SP2 qualities closer to the properties of a real acoustic piano. The instrument included 64 timbres with an increased set of recorded instrument voices. Now, apart from the traditional sounds of pianos and strings, drum and percussion sets have been added to this model.
SP2 also has a special Kurzweil effects processing technology, which allows them to be layered on absolutely any sound. The management of effects and other settings has been simplified due to the presence of an LCD.
The semi-weighted keyboard is of high quality. It offers 76 velocity sensitive keys.
The extended MIDI capabilities of the instrument are worth mentioning: SP2 supports playback of 16 MIDI-parts, and in order to simplify the interaction with the computer, there’s a USB MIDI interface, which makes it easy to work with arrangements. The housing of the model features 4 knobs, which can also be used as programmable MIDI controllers.
With all its features and capabilities of professional digital stage pianos, SP2 instrument is at the same time easy enough to use.
