In 1983 Vinny Fodera, a skilled custom guitar builder, or luthier, established his own company Fodera Guitars. He knew how to create beautiful instruments, while Joey Lauricella, his colleague, a professional bass player with sufficient practical working experience, knew how to make good bass guitars.

Joey’s professional perspective helped him in clear understanding what it takes to build a top notch instrument. He complemented Vinny’s aesthetic greatly. Fodera, who had a grip on producing custom made electric guitars, was looking for some solidity and decided on creating a working tandem aming at developing and constructing distinctive, handmade instruments featuring an effortless play and allowing musicians to achieve the finest tonal nuances unavailable from any other instrument on the guitar market.

As they say they were obsessed with the idea of building a phenomenal instrument with a proprietory though classic and familiar sound and looks – “an instrument that you just can’t put down”.

Fodera Guitars has proved itself as one of the most attentive to detail perfection custom guitars in the world since they opened the doors of their first small shop in Brooklyn, NY. Fodera custom bass and solid-body electric guitars lure guitar players from all over the world.

Each master at Fodera is truly committed to their precious occupation starting with the custom order and mulling over every peculiar detail a client is willing to get and ending with the butterfly logo lovingly inlaid onto a model. Fodera Guitars is also proud to offer one of the largest selections of premium tone woods in the world.

See the selection of guitars including Imperial and Emperor Classic series as well as bass models (Custom/Standard/Signature). Each year there will be produced four Masterbuilt instruments which will be never duplicated again. Every model is going to feature the finest materials available in unique combinations, stunning hand-cut and custom inlay work.
